The Commission adopted rules to ensure all cable subscribers, including those with analog TV sets, can view broadcast television after the transition to digital television occurs on February 17, 2009.

FCC waives the deadline for BAS transition of the 2GHz BAS for 60 days.
The FCC waives the deadline by which Sprint Nextel is required to complete the transition of the broadcast auxiliary service (BAS) to frequencies above 2025 MHz for 60 days. This will provide time to consider a Joint Petition for Waiver of Sprint Nextel Corporation, MSTV, NAB, and SBE that was filed on September 4, 2007.
