Reassessment of FCC’s RF Exposure Limits

Reassessment of FCC’s Radiofrequency Exposure Limits and Proposed Changes in the Commission’s Rules Regarding Human Exposure to Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Fields.

In the Order, the FCC resolves several issues regarding compliance with regulations for conducting environmental reviews under NEPA as they relate to the guidelines for human exposure to RF electromagnetic fields.

In the Further Notice, the FCC seeks comment on new proposals developed in the course of this proceeding regarding compliance with our guidelines for human exposure to RF electromagnetic fields.

They initiate a new proceeding with a Notice of Inquiry to determine whether there is a need for reassessment of the Commission RF exposure limits and policies. The Inquiry focuses on three elements: the propriety of our existing standards and policies, possible options for precautionary exposure reduction, and possible improvements to our equipment authorization process and policies as they relate to RF exposure.
