On May 18, 2017, the Federal Communications Commission adopted and released a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in the Matter of Elimination of Main Studio Rule(the NPRM). In the NPRM, the Commission proposes to eliminate its rule requiring each AM, FM, and television broadcast station to maintain a main studio located in or near the station’s community of license. The Commission set deadlines for filing comments and reply comments at 30 and 45 days, respectively, after publication of the NPRM in the Federal Register.
