On July 30, 2019, the FCC adopted a NPRM In the Matter of Amendments of Parts 73 and 74 to Improve the Low Power FM Radio Service Technical Rules. The FCC sought comment on several proposals designed to improve service by amending the rules for the Low Power FM Radio service and FM Translators. The LPFM Tech NPRM has set deadlines for filing comments and reply comments. See Public Notice for full details.

Because of the threat that Hurricane Dorian poses for portions of the southeast coast of the United States, the Incentive Auction Task Force and the Media Bureau extended the completion date for phase 5 of the Transition Scheduling Plan for the post-Incentive Auction transition from September 6 to September 11, 2019, at 11:59 PM.
