The FCC report summarizes the results of its lab tests of popular cell phone devices for RF exposure compliance and confirms that all tested sample devices comply with the FCC’s strict RF exposure guidelines. See Report for full details.

The FCC adopted a NPRM that takes a fresh and comprehensive look at the rules for the 5.9 GHz band and proposes, among other things, to make the band’s lower 45 MHz available for unlicensed operations and to permit C-V2X in the upper 20 MHz. See NPRM for full details.

The FCC adopted changes to the rules and procedures for considering competing applications for new and major modifications to noncommercial educational FM radio stations, noncommercial educational FM translator stations, noncommercial educational full power television stations (collectively, NCE or NCE broadcast) and low power FM (LPFM) stations. The FCC announced an initial allocation from the TV Broadcaster Relocation Fund for FM stations. This allocation enables the FCC to commence reimbursement of approved invoices submitted by eligible FM stations. The Media Bureau announces a window filing opportunity for pending new rural digital low power and TV translator stations (LPTV/translator stations) displaced by the Incentive Auction and station repack to amend their applications to specify a new channel between 2 to 36 (in core channels).
