Rafael Gonzalez joined Cavell Mertz in May of 2018 as a junior engineer assisting with the development of the CMA drone fleet. He recently graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering specializing in robotics. At FIU, he founded the university’s Panther Robotics Team and led the team to the NASA 2015 RMC Robotics Mining Competition. He has also mentored various high school robotics clubs through VEX Robotic Design Systems and First Robotics Competitions. He has experience with 3D Modeling and Simulation, manufacturing, and several programming languages including C++, Arduino, PHP, SQL. Rafael’s varied skills and interests readily lend themselves to our RF systems design, control and analysis work as the involved methods and approaches are similar.
